Peres Jepchirchir won the women’s race in 2:18:31, beating Irine Cheptai by 3:40. The reigning world champion narrowly missed the course record in a major World Marathon Majors victory.
Daniel Romanchuk: road marathon
Result: 1:26:50 · 1st
Daniel Romanchuk won the men’s elite wheelchair marathon in 1:26:50. He lowered the course record from 1:27:15.
Manuela Schär: road marathon
Result: 1:42:04 · 1st
Manuela Schär won the women’s elite wheelchair marathon in 1:42:04, breaking the course record by 2:48. The victory made her the first woman to win all seven Majors.
Chimdessa Debele: road marathon
Result: 2:04:46 · 2nd
Chimdessa Debele finished second in 2:04:46, four seconds behind Addisu Gobena. His mark was inside the previous Sydney Marathon course record.
Tebello Ramakongoana: road marathon
Result: 2:04:57 · 3rd
Tebello Ramakongoana placed third in 2:04:57. He also finished inside the previous Sydney Marathon course record.
Andy Buchanan: road marathon
Result: 2:10:14 · 16th
Andy Buchanan won the Australian men’s marathon championship in 2:10:14. He finished 16th overall in the major international marathon.
Ellie Pashley: road marathon
Result: 2:28:28 · 9th
Ellie Pashley won the Australian women’s marathon championship in 2:28:28. She finished ninth overall in the Sydney Marathon.
